Teaching & Mentoring

Teaching Philosophy

I aim to create a safe, inclusive classroom where students feel comfortable making mistakes, working collaboratively, and engaging deeply. I value community, curiosity, and growth over perfection. I have taught a wide range of mathematics courses and am deeply committed to inclusive, student-centered pedagogy.

Sample Teaching Materials

My approach blends conceptual understanding with practical skill-building. Below is a snapshot of my Calculus II (Math 112) course in Spring 2025, including a syllabus, calendar and weekly roadmap, lecture notes, and supplemental resources. Please contact me if you wish to use any of these materials.

  • Syllabus. A structured and student-friendly syllabus outlining course objectives, grading, collaborative learning policies, and support resources.

  • Class Calendar. Tentative outline of what topics will be covered each week to help students stay organized and preview upcoming concepts.

  • Weekly roadmap. Offers students a clear, repeatable structure for how to engage with the course each week.

  • Lecture Notes. A re-introduction to series (since students first see a series in Calculus I when introduced to integrals).

  • Supplemental material. Organized chart to consolidate the various types of tests to see whether a series converges.

  • Weekly check-in survey. Used to gauge student engagement, content comprehension, and feedback on course.

Student feedback.

This is a selection of anonymous comments from course evaluations. These reflections offer insight into how students have experienced my teaching, classroom environment, and support for their learning. Additional student feedback can be found here.

Jasmine Camero greatest strength comes in her ability to explain hard mathematical concepts with easy making them feel simple and intuitive. Moreover, it is extremely clear to see how much she cares about her students and how much she wants them to succeed, evident in how available she is after class.

She encouraged discussions and was very approachable. Her teachings were clear and there was not a time where she would leave a student behind.

She made me consider and in the future potentially minor in Mathematics. One of the best math teachers I've ever had.

Jasmine is very caring for her students. She cared more about us learning the material than harming our grades for our lack of understanding if we were clearly confused. I also like how she had reflections at the end of the week. With our busy schedules, it's hard sometimes to remember to check ourselves to make sure we actually understand what we've learned, and the reflections forced us to that, which I found very helpful.

Jasmine Camero was an extremely good instructor! I believe that her teaching style fit the class well and she brought a vibe that showed genuine care for her students.

Professor Camero is very organized and is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. I would consider myself not super naturally talented at Math but my skills during have improved dramatically.

Ms. Camero was an incredible instructor, so kind as well as passionate and knowledgeable about the course material. Her capacity to clarify complex concepts and patience in answering questions made class such an enjoyable experience, and I learned a lot.
